Material

Prepare pieces of 15×15 cm origami square paper, with different colors on each side, to create 8×3.5 cm lips. Here I would suggest you use the paper with a red side and one white side, to create a lifelike lip.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Start with the red side of the paper facing up. Fold the bottom point to the top diagonally.

Step 2

Dividing the bottom edge into three equal parts, you can use a pen to mark the points or crease the points out.

Fold the right point of the paper to the left point you marked diagonally.

Step 3

Fold the left point to the right diagonally.

Step 4

Take the bottom right corner you folded in the previous step, and fold it up diagonally along the dotted line.

Step 5

Similarly, fold the bottom left corner up diagonally.

Take the two corners you folded up in the previous two steps, and fold them down diagonally to the bottom corners.

Step 7

Look at the left triangle of the top layer, and fold its hypotenuse up to align with its top edge.

Repeat this for the right triangle.

Step 8

Fold the right corner down diagonally to form a small triangle.

Repeat this for the left corner.

Step 9

Pull the left and right flaps to the sides, and expand the paper completely, make the white side face up.

Step 10

Fold the left and right points toward the center along the creases you have made.

Step 11

Lift the left and right edges along the creases shown by the dotted lines, and pinch them.

Flip it over.

Fold the left and right parts to the center along the creases shown by the dotted lines, getting two vertical red lips at the center.

Step 14

Pull the two lips to the sides along the creases shown by the dotted lines to make the “mouth” open. Then lift the bottom and top points to close up this model. View it from the top side, you will get a shape like the last picture.

Step 15

Slightly lift the top layer.

Step 16

Fold the top point down diagonally along the dotted line.

Repeat this for the bottom point.

Step 17

Fold the top and bottom edges toward the center along the dotted lines, to meet the top and bottom points of the “mouth”.

Now view it from the top.

Fold the bottom edge up to reveal the red side below it.

Flip the model over.
