Material

Get a 24*24 cm square origami paper, with the same color on each side, and you will get a 7.5*7.5 cm lotus flower. It is the most natural color of origami lotus flower. But you can choose other colors like custard yellow or Christmas red for your own creations.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Fold the paper in half horizontally, crease it well then unfold.

Fold it in half vertically, crease it well and unfold it, creating a intersection point formed by these two creases at the center of the paper.

Step 3

Fold the four points to the intersection point diagonally.

Step 4

Fold the four corners to the middle intersection point for the second time.

Step 5

Fold the four corners to the middle intersection point for the third time.

Step 6

Flip the paper over.

Similarly, fold the four corners to the middle point.

Then fold the four corners diagonally a little, and un fold them.

Step 9

Unfold the top and right triangles, and unfold the top right triangle at the backside.

Fold the top right corner toward the center along the crease you made in step 8, crease it well then unfold.

Rotate it 45 degrees counterclockwise, and press down the crease you made in the previous step, then pinch up the left and right creases of the bottom edge of the top triangle.

Step 12

Take the two creases in the previous step, and fold them down along the existing creases, making the top triangle wrap that small tip, to create one of the petals.

Step 13

Repeat steps 9 to 11 for the other three corners to finish the remaining petals.

Step 14

Turn over the model.

Lift the top right flap, and pull it to the other side to wrap the flower.

Repeat step 14 for the other three triangles.

Step 17

Unfold the right flap as you did in the previous step, and make it to wrap the flower.

Repeat this for the other three triangle flaps.

Fold the tips of every petal and leaf a little outward, and this is the finished lotus flower.
