How to Make an Origami Crow

Origami animals have always been a very popular category in origami, let’s learn how to make a simple and characteristic origami crow. This is perfect for you to fold with children as it doesn’t take much time to complete.

Material

Get a 15 x 15 cm origami square paper, with different colors on each side. With this paper, you can create a 12 x 5.7 cm crow. If you use a paper with one black side and one white side, you will get a crow that looks more similar and classic.

Step by Step Tutorials

Step 1

Start with the white side of the paper facing up and fold it in half diagonally, crease it well and unfold it.

Step 2

Fold it in half again from another side, crease it well, and unfold it, getting a new crease that is perpendicular to the previous one.

Step 3

Fold it in half from the bottom right to the top left, crease it well then unfold it.

Step 4

Similarly, fold it in half from the bottom left to the top right, crease it well then unfold it.

Step 5

Pinch the two creases on the left and right upwards, while folding the left, right, and top points down to the bottom point along the creases you just made, getting a smaller square.

Step 6

Take the bottom right edge of the top layer, fold it to the center to meet the middle crease, crease it well then unfold it.

Repeat this for the left side.

Step 7

Fold the top corner down along with the dotted line between the two red points, and unfold it to make a crease.

Step 8

Lift up the bottom point of the top layer along the crease you just made.

While pushing the left and right corners to the center. Finally, flatten it.

Flip the paper over.

Take the bottom right edge, and fold it to the center. Crease it well then unfold it.

Repeat this for the left edge.

Step 11

Use the same manner as in step 8, open the pocket based on the existing creases, lift up the top layer, while pushing the left and right corners to the center, and finally flatten it.

Step 12

Fold the bottom right corner to the right a little, crease it well and unfold it.

Repeat this for the bottom left corner.

Step 13

Open the small corner from the right, slightly push the small tip from the left to the right, then use your finger to shape the creases on both sides.

 While pushing the tip, tuck it between the two layers of the corner, and finally flatten it.

Step 14

Then repeat this for the left small corner.

Open it from the left, push it from right to left, then tuck it between the two layers, and finally flatten it.

Step 15

Fold the top corner of the top layer down along the dotted line.

Step 16

Flip it over again.

Step 17

Fold it in half from right to left.

Step 18

Fold the top corner down a little, crease it well then unfold.

Step 19

Open the small corner from the left, press the tip down and tuck it between the two layers of the small corner.

Finally close and flatten it along the creases you just made in the previous step.

Now you get this cool and lovely crow.
