Origami Crimp Fold
A Crimp Fold in origami is a technique used to create a sharp zigzag or offset in a section of the model. It is very much similar to a Pleat but made on the outside of the paper.
First Example:
How to make a crimp fold
Start with a square sheet of paper. Fold the paper in half.

Make the first Fold: Decide on the width of your pleat. Fold a portion of the paper parallel to one of the edges to create a valley fold.

Make the second fold: Take the two two layers, and make a valley fold, parallel to the first fold. You may find those previous steps are quite similar to the pleat fold.

Now we open the paper and let’s transferring it into a crimp fold.

Fold the paper back along with our first crease.

Open the paper and fold the upper layer back (still a valley fold here), parallel to the first fold.

Fold the top edge to meet the bottom one. That’s a finished crimp fold.

Start with square paper positioned like a diamond. Fold the paper in half, then unfold.

Follow the diagram below. Fold the left and right edges of the paper inside to meet the center crease.

Next, fold the left side to the right side along with the center crease.

Fold the paper along the dotted line and unfold it.

Take the right point of the crease as base, fold a valley diagonally.

Third Example:

Starting with the white side facing up, fold in half diagonally, and unfold.

Now we have two triangle on the paper. Fold the right triangle in half. And repeat on the left side.

Make a oblique valley fold to make a top flip down.

Unfold it and then make another oblique valley fold based on the left bottom point of the top triangle created in previous step. Then unfold the fold.
