A Crimp Fold in origami is a technique used to create a sharp zigzag or offset in a section of the model. It is very much similar to a Pleat but made on the outside of the paper.
First Example:

Start with a square sheet of paper. Fold the paper in half.

Make the first Fold: Decide on the width of your pleat. Fold a portion of the paper parallel to one of the edges to create a valley fold.

Make the second fold: Take the two two layers, and make a valley fold, parallel to the first fold. You may find those previous steps are quite similar to the pleat fold.

Start with square paper positioned like a diamond. Fold the paper in half, then unfold.

Follow the diagram below. Fold the left and right edges of the paper inside to meet the center crease.
