- Difficulty: Middle
- Designer: Stรฉphane Gigandet
Material
Prepare a piece of 15ร15 cm origami square paper to create a 6ร6.5 cm origami Yoda.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Place the paper with the desired display side facing up, fold it in half horizontally, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Fold it in half vertically, and unfold it.

Step 2
Flip the paper from left to right.

Step 3
Fold the paper in half diagonally, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Fold the paper in half diagonally from the other side, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 4
Turn over the paper.

Step 5
Fold the bottom edge to align with the middle horizontal crease, then turn over the paper from left to right.

Step 6
Fold the top left and right points diagonally, leaving two creases, and unfold them.

Step 7
Fold the left and right edges to align with the middle vertical crease.

Step 8

Step 9
Open the bottom right pocket and squash it.

Fold the right layer to the right side.

Mountain fold the crease indicated by the red dotted line, then bring this layer you folded in the previous step back to the left side.

Step 10
Open the bottom left pocket and squash it.

Fold the left layer to the left side.

Mountain fold the crease indicated by the red dotted line, then bring this layer you folded in the previous step back to the right side.

Step 11
Turn over the paper, fold down the top point, then flip it back.

Step 12
Fold down the top left and right points diagonally, then fold them back for slightly fewer sections to accomplish two valley folds.

Step 13
Turn over the paper.

Fold the two points on the bottom side of the top small square to meet the left and right points separately, crease them well, and unfold them.

Fold the two creases you made in the previous step, indicated by the gray lines, to align with the middle horizontal line of the small square. Then, fold down these two flaps along the creases shown by the dotted lines 90 degrees. Finally, open and squash them.

Step 14
Fold these two small squares in half vertically.

Fold the two small squares horizontally to get two small triangles. Then, we use two red lines to indicate the bottom left and bottom right edges of the left and right small triangles respectively. Fold them up to align with the top edge of the triangle. Finally, fold the two small layers up.

Fold up the two small triangles below. Then, we use two red lines to indicate the top left and top right edges of the left and right small triangles, respectively, and fold them down to align with the creases indicated by the black lines. Finally, fold down these two small layers. These are the two eyes of the Yoda.

Step 15
Fold up the bottom point of the top square, then fold down the tip of the resulting triangle a little.

Step 16
Make a mountain fold as shown in Figure 1, and then restore the paper. Next, make another vertical mountain fold at the bottom.

In the same way, make two more mountain folds on the other side.

Step 17
Fold the left part to the right side along the crease indicated by the black dotted line, then fold down the top edge of the resulting flap, and fold the left edge of this paper toward the right side along the dotted line which extends vertically from the red spot.

Step 18
Bring up the right section of the bottom white layer’s top edge along the dotted line that connects two red spots, opening the pocket, and then squash it.

Step 19
Fold the right edge of the bottom part along the dotted line that extends vertically from the red spot, crease it well, and unfold it.

Step 20
Fold the left edge of the layer on the bottom right, then fold down its top edge, fold up the bottom right edge of the resulting triangle to align with its top edge.

Step 21
Lift the layer on the bottom right side, then fold the edge indicated by the red line to align with the edge indicated by the black line. Finally, shape the mountain fold crease again.

Step 22
To flatten the bottom part of the paper, push the left and right sides toward the center based on the mountain creases indicated by the red dotted lines and the valley creases indicated by the black dotted lines. Finally, flatten the right pocket, make a short valley crease shown by the dotted line in the third picture.

Step 23
Rotate the model 45 degrees from right to left, then fold the left edge backward and fold the right edge along the black dotted line.

Step 24
Flatten the bottom part and rotate the model 45 degrees from back to front, then fold down the two points as shown in the third picture.

Step 25
Rotate the model 90 degrees from front to back and fold down the top point of the face backward.

Step 26
Shape the two ears as the following pictures show.

For the characters or fictional creatures in a movie, we recommend our origami Pikachu and origami Godzilla. One of them is cute, the other is cool, and both are popular and very suitable for you to practice origami skills or enjoy the joy of origami.
