A samurai hat, also known as a “kabuto” in Japanese, is a traditional helmet worn by samurai warriors to protect their heads during war. The shape of the samurai hat is quite elaborate and different from that of regular hats. Let’s create one using just a sheet of paper. It’s easy to make and takes less than 5 minutes with only a few steps.

Folding this origami hat with a big piece of paper, such as a useless square newspaper, can turn this little hat into a wearable one. Once finished, wear it on your head; you will be as cool as a samurai warrior.
Colors on both sides of the paper will appear on the finished hat. The upper part is one, and the hat edge and the decorative triangle are in another color. So it is possible to match the hat with different colors even you are folding with just one piece of paper.
