Material
Get 15×15 cm square paper to create an 11×3.75 cm origami heart bookmark. You can change the colors to meet your preferences.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Place the paper with the colored side facing down. Fold the paper in half vertically to leave a crease, then cut the paper along this crease.
Step 2
Take out one of the rectangular papers, fold it in half vertically, and unfold it.
Step 3
Fold it in half horizontally, and unfold it.
Step 4
Fold up the bottom left and right points diagonally.
Step 5
Fold down the top edge to align with the horizontal crease, leaving a crease, and unfold it.
Step 6
Fold the left and right edges to align with the vertical crease.
Step 7
Fold the left and right edges to align with the vertical crease, crease them well, and unfold them.
Step 8
Flip the paper from left to right, then fold down the top edge.
Step 9
Fold the top left and right points diagonally a little, and unfold them.
Step 10
Unfold the layer on the top side, then turn over the paper from left to right.
Step 11
Unfold the left and right layers, then turn over the paper.
Step 12
Mountain fold the short creases indicated by the red dotted lines to get two small squares.
Step 13
Press down the left and right edges of the paper while continuing to mountain fold along the creases indicated by the red dotted lines.
Step 14
First, fold the left small square in half horizontally from top to bottom by valley fold its middle horizontal line. At the same time, make two valley folds indicated by the black dotted lines extending from the top and bottom points of this small square.
Then, mountain fold the crease indicated by the red dotted line, and make two valley folds as the black dotted lines show.
Similarly, fold the right small square in half horizontally from top to bottom by valley fold its middle horizontal line. At the same time, make two valley folds indicated by the black dotted lines extending from the top and bottom points of this small square.
Step 15
Fold down the mountain fold along the crease shown by the black dotted line, and then press down the stand upright layer on the top side.
Step 16
Here, we have two red squares on the top. Fold diagonally to form a slightly bigger triangle on each side. Crease them well, and unfold them.
Step 17
Lift the top layer on the left side, then valley fold the crease you made in the previous step, indicated by the black dotted line, and press it down to make it tuck between the two layers. Bring down the lifted layer and flatten the fold.
Step 18
Repeat this for the right side.
Lift the top layer on the right side, then valley fold the crease you made in the previous step, indicated by the black dotted line, and press it down to make it tuck between the two layers. Bring down the lifted layer and flatten the fold.
Step 19
Fold up the top layer, then fold down the top left and right points diagonally.
Step 20
Fold down the top point along the crease indicated by the dotted line.
Step 21
Flip the paper from left to right, then fold the left and right edges to align with the middle vertical line.
Step 22
Fold down the two top points a little, and finally, turn over the paper.
