Material
Since the candy box is assembled from two parts, you will need two pieces of paper in different sizes:
- One 15 × 15 cm square of origami paper.
- One 14.5 × 14.5 cm square of origami paper.
The finished origami candy box is approximately 7.5 cm in length.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Take out one piece of paper, place it with the desired display side face down. Fold the paper in half horizontally, leave a crease, and unfold it. Then, fold both the top and bottom edges to align with the horizontal crease you just made.

Step 2
Flip the paper, fold the top and bottom edges to align with the center horizontal line. Crease them very well, and unfold them. Flip the paper back, and completely unfold it.

Step 3
Fold the paper in half vertically, leave a crease, and unfold it. Fold both the left and right edges to align with the vertical crease.

Step 4
Just like Step 2.
Flip the paper, fold the left and right edges to align with the center vertical crease. Crease them very well, and unfold them. Flip the paper back, and completely unfold it.

Step 5
Fold the right edge to align with the 3rd vertical crease count from the right side (indicated by a grey line).

Step 6
Now, I use these grey lines to indicate the existing creases. Look at the right orange squares. Fold the paper backward along the red dash-dot-dot lines to make mountain folds. Repeat this for the whole column as shown in picture 2. Each red dash-dot-dot line connects two intersection points shown by the red dots.

Step 7
Fold the left edge toward the right side along the 2nd vertical crease count from the left side. Then, lift this folded part 90 degrees so it stands upright. Finally, flip the entire paper over 180°, so the surface with the diagonal creases you made in the previous step is now facing you.

Step 8
Take the horizontal mountain crease indicated by the red dash-dot-dot line, fold it upward along the diagonal valley crease indicated by the black dotted line. As you do this, the paper will naturally collapse into a zigzag shape. This will also make these creases sharper and clearer.
Repeat this for the whole column. Make these creases very sharp, as they will make the later steps much easier.

Step 9
Flip the model over 180° and rotate it 90° counterclockwise so it lies horizontally. Bring the left and right ends together to form a tube. Tuck the right end into the left end, overlapping them by one column of squares to lock the shape.

Step 10
Now we come to the most challenging and fun part: twisting to close the candy box.
First, rotate the model clockwise 90°. On the right side, carefully fold each horizontal mountain crease upward along the existing valley creases to collapse the paper. Work your way around the tube. This requires a little patience; take your time to shape the paper until it looks like a real candy wrapper.
Friendly Tip: The last fold often gets tucked inside. You can use tweezers to pull it out before finishing the fold.

Step 11
To finish shaping the candy wrapper, go around the opening and sharpen the existing creases. This gives the box a crisp, clean look and makes it look much cuter!

Step 12
Repeat all the previous steps for another piece of paper to create a matching half. To finish, assemble them by tucking the smaller one into the larger one.

Step 13
Your lovely origami candy box is now complete! You can fill it with real treats or colorful paper stars for a perfect handmade gift.
