This origami camel is in the standing position, like they are just working on the dessert. Although it is a desserts, the lovely origami camel instruction is based on a Bird Base, which further developed into the main body shape of the camel. It is a dromedary camel that only has a single hump, which is a camel’s most iconic feature.

Material
Prepare a piece of 15ร15 cm origami square paper to create a 7.5ร7 cm origami camel. Other papers with different sizes and colors are also practicable.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Place the paper with the desired display color side up to begin folding, fold it in half horizontally, leaving a crease then unfold it.

Step 2
Fold the paper in half vertically, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 3
Flip the paper over from left to right.

Step 4
Fold the bottom right edge to align with the top left edge, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 5
Fold the bottom left edge to align with the top right edge, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 6
Shape the left and right creases, then fold the left, right, and top points to meet the bottom point, and finally, flatten the fold.

Step 7
Fold the bottom right and left edges to align with the vertical crease, crease them well, and unfold them.

Step 8
Fold the top point down, then unfold.

Step 9
Open the pocket based on the crease created by the previous step. Then lift up the top layer, and use your hands to flatten the pocket.

Step 10
Turn over the paper from left to right.

Similarly, fold the bottom left and right edges to align with the middle vertical crease and unfold them.

Step 12
As you did in step 9, open the pocket based on the crease created by the previous step. Then lift up the top layer, and use your hands to flatten the pocket.

Step 13
Fold the top left and right edges to align with the middle vertical crease, then rotate the paper 180 degrees from left to right, and fold the top left and right edges on this side to align with the vertical crease.

Step 14
Fold up the two flaps on the bottom side, crease them well, and unfold them.

Step 15
Rotate the paper 90 degrees from right to left, then expand this opening and fold up the bottom point along the crease you made in the previous step, indicated by the black dotted line. Next, close this opening and rotate the paper 90 degrees from left to right.

Step 16
Rotate the paper 90 degrees from left to right, then expand this opening and fold up the bottom point along the crease you made. Finally, close this opening and rotate the paper 90 degrees from right to left.

Step 17
Fold down the right flap, crease it well, and unfold it.

Step 18
Rotate the paper 90 degrees from front to back and focus on the right flap. Next, expand the opening of this flap and shape the creases you made in the previous step. Then, make a valley fold along its middle crease and press down the tip. Finally, close the opening and rotate the paper 90 degrees from back to front.

Step 19
Fold down the top point of the top layer, then flip the paper over from left to right, and fold down the top point as well.

Step 20
Fold down the top point of the right flap, then unfold it.

Step 21
View the paper from the top left side and focus on the right flap, shape the creases you made in the previous step, and then fold the right point toward the left along the black dotted line [pictures 1 to 3].
Next, valley fold the middle crease indicated by the black dotted line to close the opening [picture 4].
Finally, rotate the paper 90 degrees from back to front to see the camel’s head.

Step 22
Fold these two corners inwards a little.
