Material

Get a piece of 15cm x 15cm origami square paper with different colors on each side, to create an origami bowl with a diameter of 6.8 cm. Feel free to experiment with various colors and sizes of paper.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Place the paper with the desired display side facing down to begin folding. Fold it in half horizontally from bottom to top.

Fold the left edge to align with the top edge, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 3

Fold the left edge to align with the bottom edge, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Fold the bottom right point to meet the intersection point formed by the two creases.

Step 5

Fold the bottom left edge of the right layer to align with its bottom right edge.

Step 6

Fold the bottom edge to align with the bottom left edge of the right layer.

Step 7

Flip the paper from left to right.

Fold the bottom right edge to align with the bottom left edge.

Flip the paper from left to right.

Cut it along the edge indicated by the dotted line, and we only need the bottom triangle.

Expand this triangle completely to get a pentagon.

Fold each point along the black dotted lines connecting two red points.

Turn over the paper from left to right.

Similarly, fold each point along the black dotted lines connecting two red points.

Make a valley crease indicated by the black dotted line and two mountain creases indicated by the red dotted lines. Then, push the left and right sides toward the center.

Step 16

Rotate the paper 90 degrees from front to back, then fold down the small flap you made in the previous step to the left side and unfold it. Fold it down again and tuck it under the layer on its left side.

Step 17

Flip the paper and repeat steps 15 to 16 for the other four sides.

Step 18

Rotate it 180 degrees from left to right, that’s your origami bowl.
