Material
Prepare two pieces of 15ร15 cm origami square paper, one for the lid and another one for the box.
Based on our tests, we suggest using a patterned paper for the lid and a standard colored paper for the box. You can try with your own combinations. Step by step instructions are demonstrated with standard colored papers.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Take out one of the papers, we are going to make the box.
Start with the white side of the paper facing up. Fold in half horizontally and unfold.
Step 2
Fold it in half vertically, crease it well, and unfold it, getting an intersection point formed by these two creases.
Step 3
Fold the four points to the intersection point.
Step 4
Hold the paper in your hand so that it bends in the same way as the picture shows, like an “S”, then flatten this edge, creating two points to divide this edge into three equal parts.
Step 5
Fold the bottom right edge toward the top left along the dotted line (formed by extending vertically from the point you just made to the bottom left edge). Crease it well then unfold.
Step 6
Repeat this for the top left edge.
Step 7
Fold the bottom left edge toward the top right along the dotted line, to align with the line connecting by the two red points. (the red points are formed by the intersection of the two creases you just made and the slits).
Crease it well then unfold.
Step 8
Repeat this for the top right edge, fold it to align with the crease you made in the previous step, and unfold it.
Step 9
Rotate it for 45 degrees clockwise.
Step 10
Unfold the top and bottom triangles.
Step 11
Lift the left and right edges along the creases shown by the dotted lines, making them stand.
Step 12
Bring up the top part and make it stand along the crease shown by the dotted line.
Pinch up the creases on the left and right shown by the red dotted lines, forming two corners, and fold them to the center, finally, place them well.
Step 13
Fold the top point down along the edge shown by the dotted line, adjust the top triangle to fit into the white part at the bottom of the box, and now you get an edge of the box.
Step 14
Fold the bottom part of the box along the existing creases as you did in step 12.
Step 15
Fold the lifted part down along the dotted line, and make the triangle fit into the white place at the bottom perfectly, now you make the box part.
How to Make the Lid
Step 1
Now take out another piece of paper, we are going to make the lid part.
Start with the colored side of the paper facing up, fold it in half horizontally, crease it well then unfold it.
Step 2
Fold both the top and bottom edges to align with the horizontal crease, crease them well then unfold.
Step 3
Fold both the top and bottom edges to align with the creases you made in the previous step, crease them well then unfold.
Step 4
Fold the bottom edge up to align with the crease you made in step 17(shown by the red line), crease it well then unfold.
Step 5
Then repeat this for the top edge, fold it down to align with the crease shown by the red line, crease well then unfold, now we have seven horizontal creases on this paper.
Step 6
Rotate it 45 degrees clockwise, then repeat steps 1 to 5, getting another seven horizontal creases.
Step 7
Fold the bottom left point to the top right diagonally, crease well then unfold it.
Step 8
Fold the bottom right point to the top left diagonally, crease it well then unfold. Next, rotate it 45 degrees counterclockwise.
Step 9
We can see here are four small squares on the four corners formed by the creases, now fold the four squares in half diagonally, crease them well, and unfold them.
Step 10
Fold the bottom point of the paper up to meet the midpoint of the crease on the top you made in the previous step, just press down the middle of the crease to mark it, then unfold it.
Repeat this for the other three points of the paper, and also mark the middle of the creases then unfold, finally, we will get four short creases at the center of the paper, creating a small square.
Step 11
Flip the paper over.
Step 12
Fold the bottom point of the paper up to meet the intersection point (shown by the red point)or the bottom point of the top small square, just crease the right part well, then unfold it.
In the same manner, fold the top point to the bottom intersection point, crease the left side well then unfold, demonstrate with blue lines and points in the picture.
Repeat this for the right point, fold it to the left intersection point, and crease the top side well then unfold, demonstrate with red lines and points.
Repeat this for the left point, crease the bottom side well then unfold, demonstrate with brown lines and points.
Step 13
Flip it over.
Step 14
Pinch up the line connecting the top left point of the center small square and the right point of the top diamond shape on the center.
The same small center square, pinch up the line connecting its bottom left point and the top point of the left diamond shape.
And the line connecting the bottom right point of the center small square and the bottom point of the left diamond shape.
Finally, the line connecting the top right point of the small center square and the bottom point of the right diamond shape
Step 15
Flip it over.
Step 16
Fold the bottom point up to meet the second intersection point shown by the red point, crease the left side then unfold it.
Fold the top point down in the same manner and crease the right side then unfold it.
Then fold the left point to the right in the same manner, crease the top side then unfold it.
Finally, fold the right point and crease the bottom side then unfold.
Step 17
Pinch up these four lines:
- The line connects the top left point of the small center square and the left point of the left diamond shape.
- The line connects the top right point of the small center square and the top point of the top diamond shape.
- The line connects the bottom right point of the small center square and the right point of the right diamond shape.
- the line connects the bottom left point of the small center square and the bottom point of the bottom diamond shape.
Crease them well.
Step 18
Pinch up these four existing creases shown by the dotted lines. These creases will connect the creases you made in the previous step.
Step 19
Pinch up these four creases on the four corners.
Step 20
Fix the center point and rotate the four points of the paper clockwise, as you rotate it, the paper will form some arched corners along the existing creases, then fold the direction as the second picture shows.
Next, you should adjust it to a shape as the final picture shows.
Starting from this step, the following steps will take time to shape and adjust, so please be patient.
Step 21
Flip the model over and press down these four sides as the picture shows. You can apply slight pressure to the center of the model during the process to securely fix the model in place.
Step 22
Lift the four flaps that extend to the four corners and make them stand.
Step 23
Look at the bottom right flap, and view it from its top right. From the point that meets the bottom of the model, fold this flap a little inwards.
Repeat this for the other three flaps.
Step 24
Flip the model over.
Step 25
Fold the top edge down along the crease shown by the dotted line, crease it well then unfold.
Then repeat this for the other three edges, getting four creases.
Step 26
Bring up the top edge to make it stand along the crease you made in the previous step, and view it from the top. Then bring up the right edge as well, and pinch up the diagonal line shown by the white dotted line, forming a small corner, and attach this corner to the outside of the lid’s wall.
Finally, view it from the original sight, and you will get a shape like the last picture shows.
Step 27
Fold the layer formed in the previous step down, getting a right angle.
Step 28
Repeat steps 26 to 27 for the remaining three corners to create the lid of the box. This may take some time, please be patient, and do your best to fold and crease carefully for a perfect lid.
Step 29
This is the final shape of the blossom rose box, close this box and have a look.
