This adorable origami bed is an excellent addition to your dollhouse and completes the play house game you play. It is easy to make and beginner-friendly. The bed includes a bed comforter and two soft-looking pillows. Additionally, it features a curved backrest, providing a sense of security.

Material

Prepare two pieces of 15ร—15 cm origami square paper to create a 5.5ร—3.75 cm origami bed. Feel free to experiment with various colors to give your project a unique outlook.

Step by Step Instructions

Step 1

Take out one of the papers, place it with the desired display color side down to begin folding, fold it in half horizontally, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 2

Fold the top and bottom edges to align with the horizontal crease. Repeat this one more time and unfold.

Step 3

Fold the right edge to the left side along the dotted line, note that you are not folding it in half vertically.

Step 4

Fold the edge indicated by the red line to align with the crease indicated by the black line, for both the top and bottom right side.

Step 5

Fold the left edge of the top layer to the right side along the dotted line.

Step 6

Similar to step 4, fold the edge indicated by the red line to align with the crease indicated by the black line, for both the top and bottom right side.

Step 7

Fold the right edge to the left side along the dotted line.

Step 8

Fold the left edge along the dotted line to align with the left edge of the right part.

Step 9

For both the top and bottom left sides, fold the edge indicated by the red line to align with the crease indicated by the black line, crease them well, and unfold them.

Step 10

Unfold the left layer.

Step 11

Based on these existing creases, press the left section of the top and bottom edges and fold the left edge to the right side, then flatten the fold.

Step 12

Here, we can see a rectangle on the left side, fold its right edge to the left side along the black dotted line and unfold it.

Step 13

View the paper from the right side, lift the left layer, and fold down the rectangle’s right edge along the crease you made in the previous step. Flatten the fold.

Step 14

Open the left and right pockets and lift the top and bottom edges to form a box.

Step 15

Turn over this model, that’s the bed part.

Prepare Papers for Origami Pillow and Origami Comforter

Here, I use paper sizes of 4.7* 7.5 cm and 1.87* 1.2 cm. You can cut the paper of the same size directly according to this size. If you don’t have scissors and a ruler, you can fold it as follows to get the paper of this size.

Step 1

Take another piece of 15ร—15 cm paper, fold it in half horizontally, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Fold it in half vertically, and unfold it.

Step 2

Fold the bottom edge to align with the horizontal crease, and unfold it

Step 3

Fold up the bottom edge along the dotted line, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 4

Fold the right edge to align with the vertical crease, and unfold it.

Fold the right edge to align with the crease you made in the previous step, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 6

Fold the top edge along the dotted line, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Cut the paper along the creases indicated by the dotted lines, as you can see in the third picture. We got three pieces of rectangular paper, which we marked numbers 1, 2, and 3. These are the three pieces of paper we need.

Origami Bed Comforter

Step 1

Take out the piece of paper marked with number 1. Place it with the desired display side facing up, and fold the top edge along the dotted line.

Step 2

Fold the paper in half vertically to mark the midpoint of the bottom edge, and unfold it.

Step 3

Flip the paper over from left to right, then fold the left and right edges along the dotted line to make them meet at the center. Unfold them 90 degrees to make these flaps stand upright.

Step 4

Turn the bed comforter over and place it on top of the bed.

Origami Bed pillow

Step 1

Use two other small pieces of paper to make pillows. Take one of the sheets and, with the side you need to show facing down, fold the top, bottom, left, and right edges a little, and then unfold the left and right sides.

Step 2

Unfold the top and bottom sides, and sharpen the four corners. Finally, turn it over to get a cute little pillow.

Step 3

Make another pillow in the same manner above.

Finished Origami Bed

Step 1

Put two small pillows on the bed and that’s a complete origami bed.
