Material
Prepare three pieces of 15ร15 cm square paper to create a 12ร12 cm origami basket. Feel free to customize your basket by using different colors of paper.
Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Take out the yellow paper, place it with the yellow side face up to begin folding, then fold it in half horizontally and vertically once, crease well, and unfold to leave two creases.
Step 2
Fold the paper in half diagonally in both directions and unfold it.
Step 3
Fold the left and right edges to align with the middle vertical crease, and unfold them.
Step 4
Fold the top and bottom edges to align with the middle horizontal crease.
Step 5
Fold the bottom edge indicated by the red line to align with the crease indicated by the grey line, leaving a crease, and unfold it.
Step 6
Similarly, fold the bottom edge indicated by the red line to align with the crease on the right side indicated by the grey line, leaving a crease, and unfold it.
Step 7
Bring up the right edge and open the opening along the two slanted creases [picture 1].
Then, press the right edge toward the left side along the crease indicated by the black dotted line [picture 2].
Finally, fold the top and bottom corners to the right side [picture 3].
Step 8
The same to the left side, bring up the left edge and open the opening along the two slanted creases [picture 1].
Then, press the left edge toward the right side along the crease indicated by the black dotted line [picture 2].
Finally, fold the top and bottom corners to the left side [picture 3].
Step 9
Lift the four flaps, open and squash them to form four small squares.
Step 10
Fold the points of these four small squares, located in the center of this paper, four in all, diagonally to each of the four points of the paper.
Step 11
Focus on the top left square, fold its triangle on the right to the left, then fold the bottom edge of this triangle to align with the right edge, and finally, fold this flap to the right side.
Step 12
Similarly, fold the left triangle to the right side, then fold the right edge to align with the diagonal crease, and finally, fold this flap to the left side.
Step 13
Repeat this for the remaining three squares.
Step 14
Take out the piece of blue paper, place it with the blue side facing up, then fold it in half horizontally and vertically once, crease well, and unfold to leave two creases. Cut the paper along the creases to get four small squares.
Step 15
Place the small square marked No.1 with the white side facing down, fold it in half horizontally and vertically once, crease well, and unfold to leave two creases.
Step 16
Flip over the paper from left to right.
Step 17
Fold the bottom right edge to align with the top left edge, and unfold it.
Fold the bottom left edge to align with the top right edge, and unfold it.
Step 18
Mountain fold the left and right creases, then push the left, right, and top points to meet the bottom one.
Step 19
Fold the bottom point of the top layer to meet the top point.
Step 20
Fold the top flap on the right side to the left side, then fold the bottom left edge of this flap to align with the middle vertical creases of the paper. Next, fold this flap back to the right side.
Step 21
Similarly, fold the left flap to the right side, then fold the bottom right edge to align with the vertical crease, and finally, fold this flap to the left side.
Step 22
Fold the other three pieces of small square paper in the same manner.
Step 23
Place these five units as the first picture shows, then turn over the four small units and apply glue, finally, turn over the four small units.
Step 24
Assemble these units.
Step 25
Tuck the four flaps at the center into the pockets located at the top, bottom, left, and right sides.
Step 26
Press the center point to form the basket part.
Step 27
Rotate the paper 180 degrees from front to back and sharpen the bottom corner of the basket part.
Step 28
Sharpen the other three corners to make the bottom of the basket square, then rotate the basket 180 degrees from left to right.
Step 29
Take out the last piece of paper, we are going to make the handle of the basket.
Place the paper with the desired display side facing up, hold it in half horizontally, then fold the bottom edge to align with the horizontal crease and unfold it to create a crease. Finally, cut the paper along this crease, and the bottom rectangle is required.
Step 30
Turn over this paper from left to right, then fold up the bottom edge along the dotted line and fold down the top edge.
Step 31
Slightly bend it.
Step 32
Tuck the left end of the paper strip into the pocket on the left side of the basket part.
Step 33
Tuck the right end into the pocket on the right side of the basket part.

Adjust it well as the pictures show.
