This origami armchair sofa perfectly resembles the single sofa in our living room. Its arched armrests and backrest give it a soft appearance as if it’s stuffed with cotton.
We also match it with a soft pillow on top. It is a super easy and kid-friendly origami tutorial. You must use several pieces of paper to combine this sofa in this model. One key point is to cut the paper into the correct size. You can cut them with one piece of paper or match with different patterns or colors.

- Folding time: 15 minutes
- Paper: 15cm x 15cm / 2, 6.5cm x 3.3cm / 3, 9.5cm x 3.3cm / 1
- Difficulty: Easy
Material
Prepare two pieces of 15 cm* 15 cm paper, three pieces of 6.5 cm* 3.3 cm paper, and a piece of 9.5 cm* 3.3 cm paper to create a 7.5 cm* 8.5 cm origami armchair sofa.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Take out a piece of 15 cm* 15 cm paper and place it with the desired display side facing down to begin folding. Fold it in half horizontally, leaving a short crease, and unfold it.

Fold it in half vertically, and unfold it.

Step 2
Fold the four points to meet the center intersection point.

Step 3
Fold the top and bottom edges to align with the horizontal crease, crease them well, and unfold them.

Step 4
Fold the left and right edges to align with the vertical crease, crease them well, and unfold them.

Step 5
Unfold the left and right triangles, then turn over the paper from left to right.

Step 6
Create a valley crease in each direction, a total of four creases.

Step 7
Flip the paper from left to right.

Step 8
Bring up the top and bottom edges and push the four corners toward the center based on the four mountain fold creases indicated by the red dotted lines, then lift the left and right points.

Step 9
Press down the left and right layers to form a box.

Step 10
Make another box in the same manner above.

Step 12
Take out the remaining four pieces of paper: three pieces of 6.5 cm* 3.3 cm paper, and a piece of 9.5 cm* 3.3 cm paper.

Step 13
Insert the short ends of a 6.5 cm* 3.3 cm piece of paper into the gaps on the left and right sides of the box. Then, insert the short ends of a 9.5 cm* 3.3 cm piece of paper into the gap at the top. This will create three arches, which will serve as the two armrests and the backrest of the sofa.

Step 14
Take out the last piece of 6.5 cm* 3.3 cm paper, lift the left and right edges, and glue them together.

Step 15
Shape it into a pillow as shown below, by pressing each side along the curved red dotted lines.

Step 16
Place this pillow on the sofa.

In addition to this armchair sofa, our origami dinner chair is also very cute, just like the chairs that match the dinner table in an elegant restaurant.
If you want to create an intriguing origami scene or make your armchair sofa look more lively and realistic, consider folding an origami dog and placing it on the sofa. It will resemble your pet puppy lounging lazily on the sofa at home.
