If you love marine creatures or want to make a batch of creatures in the sea, try to make this origami seahorse.
The finished origami seahorse with this model has an elongated, horse-like appearance with curved tails. In the deep sea, the seahorse’s prehensile tail can grasp objects like seagrass so that you can match it with lovely origami grass.
The finished origami seahorse may have lots of layers and be a little bit thick on the back. We suggest attaching them together with solid glue. We will start by making the body and then shape it with the heads and tails. Let’s get started.
We have a collection of cute sea creatures like this origami crab waving its pincers, an origami seahorse with an elegant body shape, and a paper whale with a super large head swimming in the ocean.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Start with the white side of the paper facing up, and fold it in half diagonally, then unfold it to make a center crease.
Step 2
Fold the paper in half diagonally from right to left, crease it well, and then unfold it.
Step 3
Fold both the left and right edges on the bottom along the dotted line to meet the vertical crease. Crease it well and unfold it.
Step 4
Fold both the left and right edges on the top to the center along the dotted line, and crease it well.
Step 5
Take the bottom left corner of the top right green triangle, and lift it gently while pressing down the two creases shown by the dotted lines.
Step 6
Sharp the corner from both sides and fold it down, then flatten it.
Step 7
In the same way, lift the bottom right corner of the left triangle.
Step 8
Sharp the corner and fold it down, then flatten it.
Step 9
Fold it diagonally backward. That’s the basic body of our seahorse.
Step 10
Fold the bottom corner of the triangle on the surface up along the dotted line.
Step 11
Then fold it backward a little.
Step 12
Flip the paper over.
Step 13
Fold this small corner up a little in the same manner as step 10.
Step 14
Then fold it backward a little so that it overlaps with the folded shape from step 11.
Step 15
Fold the bottom right edge of the top layer to the left along the dotted line.
Step 16
Flip it over.
Step 17
Similarly, fold the left edge of the top layer to the right along the dotted line.
Step 18
Fold the edge indicated by the red line down along the dotted line, to meet the crease indicated by the black line, crease it well then unfold it.
Step 19
Open the paper from the left side slightly, and push the intersection of the right edge and the crease you just made to the left gently, press the top corner down at the same time.
Then fold both the above edge and below edge down, and finally flatten it.
Step 20
Fold the top corner to the left side along the dotted line, crease it well then unfold it.
Step 21
Open the top corner from the right side slightly, push the left arched corner to the right gently, and fold the top corner to left at the same time, finally flatten it along the crease you made in the previous step. This is the outside reserve fold.
Step 22
Fold this small corner inward a little to form the seahorse’s head.
Step 23
Fold the bottom corner to the left side.
Step 24
Then fold it upward a little backward to form the seahorse’s tail, now you have the final shape of the seahorse, it’s very cute and realistic.
