Push the corner you just folded inwards, tucking it between the two layers of paper, and flatten the fold.
Step 5
Fold the left top point down diagonally to meet the right top point, then unfold it.
Step 6
Fold the left edge of the triangle to the right a little, and unfold it, creating a crease.
Step 7
Unfold the paper slightly from the left side.
Step 8
Hold both sides of the paper with your hands, outside reverse fold the top corner along the crease you made in step 6 and flatten it.
Step 9
Fold the left bottom point of the top layer to the right along the dotted line.
Step 10
Flip the paper over.
Step 11
Similarly, fold the right bottom point of the top layer to the left.
Step 12

Step 13
Flip it over again.
Step 14
Similarly, fold the bottom edge up a little to meet the black edge. As we can see, the cute penguin is done!
This model creates a flat penguin with two-sided viewing. It simulates the shape of a penguin with its tail, vast white body, and sharp bill, one of its defining characteristics. A black educational origami paper can make the paper penguin more real in color.
In addition, we have several other penguin step-by-step tutorials. The origami penguin has more layers and details about the body and shape, while this 3D origami penguin has more details on the back and the flattened flippers.
Now we have finished this origami penguin. You can further continue to make some lovely origami animals or add some other elements to make a short origami story. We would recommend trying our origami jumping frog, which is super interesting as the frog can jump when its back is pushed. Happy folding.
