Your money can jump out of your wallet and become a cute rabbit—it is the richest cute pet. No cutting or gluing is required; just some basic folding to complete it. The rabbit’s ears are leaning back, and the body is sitting upright, looking very relaxed, perhaps meditating… The short, upright tail adds an extra touch of liveliness.

- Folding time: 15 minutes
- Paper: A Dollar Bill
- Difficulty: Easy
Material
Prepare a one-dollar bill to fold a lovely origami elephant. A slightly new bill would be better.

Step by Step Instructions
Step 1
Place the bill with the portrait face up to begin folding, fold it in half horizontally, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 2
Fold the top and bottom right corners diagonally along the dotted line, making them meet the horizontal crease, then flip the bill from front to back.

Step 3
Fold the left edge to align with the top edge, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 4
Fold the left edge to align with the bottom edge, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 5
Mountain fold the crease indicated by the red dotted line, and valley fold the creases indicated by the blue dotted lines.
Press down the right section of the top and bottom edges to take the mountain crease, then lift the left edge along these valley creases, getting a triangle on the left side.
Finally, bring the top and bottom corners together upward along the center horizontal crease.

Step 6
Rotate the bill 90 degrees from back to front to lay it flat.

Step 7
Fold the left corner of the left triangle to meet the right edge’s midpoint, crease it well, and unfold it.

Step 8
Fold the bottom left edge along the blue dotted line, making the left corner meet the intersection point formed by the crease you made in the previous step and the top left edge, indicated by the red spot. Crease it well, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 9
The fold of the top left edge is similar to that of the bottom left edge.
Fold it up along the blue dotted line, making it meet the red spot, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 10
Mountain fold the crease indicated by the red dotted line, and fold this mountain crease along the crease indicated by the blue dotted line.
Flip the dollar from left to right, and repeat this. Mountain fold the crease indicated by the red dotted line, and fold this mountain crease along the crease indicated by the blue dotted line.

Step 11
Rotate the dollar 90 degrees from right to left. Press the two flaps backward and fold down the top corner.

Step 12
Fold the top triangle in half vertically downward, then rotate it 90 degrees from right to left to lay it flat.

Step 13
View the dollar from the top left side. Valley fold the crease indicated by the red dotted line and mountain fold the creases indicated by the blue dotted lines. Lay it flat again.

Step 14
Take the ear on this side, fold it down along the horizontal blue dotted line, then fold it back to the top side to form a zigzag.

Step 15
Turn the bill over from left to right, and fold the ear on this side in the same manner.
Fold it down along the horizontal blue dotted line, then fold it back to the top side to form a zigzag.

Step 16
Rotate the bill 90 degrees from right to left, and make a valley fold on the mouth part, then rotate it another 90 degrees from right to left.

Step 17
Fold the right corner to the left side along the blue dotted line, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 18
Fold the right corner to the left side along the center blue dotted line, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 19
Fold the right corner to the left side again, making the two red spots on the bottom edge meet, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 20
Rotate it 90 degrees from back to front and expand the right part.

Step 21
Fold the right corner to the left side along the left vertical crease, then fold it back to the right side along the right vertical crease to form a zigzag. Close this opening.

Step 22
Fold the right edge along the blue dotted line to align with the vertical edge, leaving a crease, and unfold it.

Step 23
Rotate the rabbit 90 degrees from front to back and open the bottom opening. Lift the right corner along the creases you made in the previous step, and finally, close the bottom opening and lay it flat.

Step 24
Rotate it 90 degrees from back to front, open the opening, and fold the top and bottom right corners along the blue dotted lines. Close this opening, and lay the rabbit flat.

Step 25
Straighten the model.
