Origami Bird Base: It is a fundamental fold used as a starting point for many origami bird models, including the classic crane. It’s a versatile base that allows for further creativity once you’ve mastered the folds. Bird base is made based on square base.
It is mainly used to make “bird” in traditional origami. It is featured by the protruding points which can further transforming to elegant, streamlined shape.

Step By Step
Step 1
Let’s start with a square base. Fold the right bottom edges to meet the center crease (the top layer only). Repeat on the left side. Then unfold.
Step 2
Fold the top part of the paper down, along with the line between the two red points in the following picture. Then unfold, leaving a triangle in the middle of the paper.
Step 3
Lift up the bottom flap of the paper. Then push the right and left points with your fingers to flatten the fold.
Step 4
Flip over. Let’s repeat on the other side.
Step 5
Lift up the bottom flap of the paper. Then push the right and left points with your fingers to flatten the fold. Now we finished this side too. Let’s call it a bird base.
